Create the Microsoft Entra Application

Before registering

Confirm that a customer-managed Entra application is the supported setup for your installed product version. Account type, redirect URI requirements, and authentication mode are implementation-dependent.

Microsoft platform steps

An authorized administrator can use Microsoft Entra ID → App registrations → New registration. Name the application according to your organization’s convention and select account settings only after confirming the product requirements.

After registration, record the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID. These identify different things; do not substitute the application’s object ID for its client ID.

Review ownership

Assign responsibility for credentials, access reviews, and offboarding. Record the app’s purpose and approved sites in your handoff documentation.
