Grant SharePoint Site Access

Separate setup authorization from runtime access

Section titled “Separate setup authorization from runtime access”

The administrator or setup identity that assigns site access may need different privileges from the application that later runs file tasks. Keep those roles distinct when reviewing the final product setup.

  1. Confirm the target site identifier and the application’s client ID.
  2. Confirm that Sites.Selected and its permission mode match the verified product requirements.
  3. Assign only the site role required by the reviewed operations through your organization’s approved procedure.
  4. Record the site, application, assigned role, and approver.
  5. Test access using the runtime application context, rather than relying on a successful administrator session.

Microsoft describes site assignments in the Selected permissions overview. The executable Merxence grant commands and required setup privileges are pending review.

Verify both consent and the site grant, along with the token and target site. See SharePoint access troubleshooting. A successful administrator browser session does not prove the workflow application’s access.
